The harvest has ended

After 50 days of intense activity in the vineyards and wineries in the appellation of origin, today it has terminated the campaign to collect grapes with a total of 95 wineries that elaborate wine under the protection of the appellation of origin in the campaign 2015-2016.

On August 28th vintage promptly began in Ribeira Sacra to those wineries that the characteristics and location of the vineyards where the grapes were fulfilled the parameters required by the Regulatory Board.
The 15th of September was the official recommended the start of the harvest date.

During the days that lasted vintage weather conditions have been very favorable; as the rains have been scarce and timely and good weather has prevailed throughout the campaign to collect.
The grapes come into the winery in good sanitary condition so it is expected that the harvest is of very good quality.

The total amount of kilos collected in this campaign is 6,194,780 which represents 1,4 million kilos more than in the previous campaign in which 4,773,674 million were collected.

Overall expectations have been met with which had the Regulatory Council at the beginning of the campaign.

The tasks of origin and quality control during the harvest in the vineyards and wineries in the appellation of origin is carried out by technical personnel of the Regulatory Council, which has also had the backing of 13 suppliers technicians hired especially for the harvest time.
