Tradición
ADEGA VELLA is a bodega situated in the town of Abeleda (Teixeira). The building is of stone and dates back to the 17th Century, the renovation of the building took place in 2005 and it has been done keeping it in the style of a typical country house of the region with an area of 400m. squared.
The bodega makes young wine from Mencía, Brencellao and Mouraton grape varieties, coming from their own 4 hectares of vineyards, which due to the topography, the vines have to be grown in terraces with limited production but this is compensated for by the high quality of the grapes. It preserves the family tradition of making delicious natural wines that reminds you of the taste of wine from the past.
It doesn´t use cold equipment, and it ferments the wine in stainless steel vats of less than 4,000 litres. The fermentation takes place between 18 degrees and 25 degrees, with the temperature being controlled by running water showered on the vats. The bodega uses production methods of light extraction and natural decantation.
