D.O. Ribeira Sacra approaches 5 million kilos after the second weekend of the official harvest

After the second weekend after the date recommended by the C.R.D.O.R.S. for the start of the harvest, D.O. Ribeira Sacra has collected 4,890,265 kilos. Of the majority variety, Mencía, 3,675,218 kilos have been harvested. The quantities by variety are distributed as follows:
Red Varieties:
- Mencía 3.675.218 kilos
- Garnacha 169.273 kilos
- Merenzao 66.806 kilos
- Brancellao 29.765 kilos
- Caíno tinto 26.022 kilos
- Tempranillo 26.708 kilos
- Sousón 24.532 kilos
- Mouratón 5.428 kilos
- Grao Negro 580 kilos
White Varieties:
- Godello 691.040 kilos
- Albariño 96.271 kilos
- Treixadura 59.603 kilos
- Dona Branca 6.560 kilos
- Loureira 6.112 kilos
- Blanco Legítimo 4.287 kilos
- Torrontés 2.070 kilos
Of the 95 wineries that harvest this year under the protection of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, 29 have finished the harvest, 59 wineries are still harvesting and 7 are yet to start. As announced last Monday by the President of the C.R.D.O.R.S., Antonio Lombardía, the most intense activity in the vineyard took place this week, doubling the figures from last weekend. The health status and quality of the grapes that continue to enter the winery are optimal and during this week the weather will be good to finish the campaign.
