D.O. Ribeira Sacra begins October with 6,425,411 kilos harvested and already exceeds the amount of last season

In D.O. Ribeira Sacra, the harvest is still open in 1/3 of the registered wineries and has already surpassed last year's campaign, which closed on October 11 with 6,092,707 kilos of grapes collected. Of the majority variety, Mencía, 5,064,146 kilos have been harvested in 2023. The quantities by variety are distributed as follows:

Red Varieties:

  • Garnacha 247.561 quilos
  • Merenzao 67.841 quilos
  • Brancellao 52.499  quilos
  • Caíno tinto 36.573 quilos
  • Tempranillo 32.837 quilos
  • Sousón 42.910 quilos
  • Mouratón 6.227 quilos
  • Grao Negro 2.010 quilos

White Varieties:

  • Godello 696.526 quilos
  • Albariño 96.525 quilos
  • Treixadura 60.305 quilos
  • Dona Branca 7.903 quilos
  • Loureira 5.191 quilos
  • Branco Lexítimo 4.287 quilos
  • Torrontés 2.070 quilos

99 wineries are registered to harvest this campaign in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, 63 have already finished the harvest, 26 are still harvesting and 8 have not yet started. Two of the registered wineries will not make wine.
