D.O. Ribeira Sacra will participate in the event, which is held this Wednesday at 2.00 pm at FITUR, dedicated to the candidacy of Ribeira Sacra for World Heritage. The appointment will be at the stand of Galicia, with the President of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, José Manuel Rodríguez, the President of the Tourism Consortium, Luis Fernández Guitián and the General Manager of Cultural Heritage that will approach the state in which the candidacy is.

FITUR, the first annual event for world tourism professionals and the leading fair for the receptive and outgoing Latin American markets will host another interesting event, in this case on Friday, January 24th, at the stand of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food ( 9 C14). At 10.15 a.m the round table "Wine tourism, generating value in rural areas" will be held, organized by the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV), in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN).

The meeting, for which no previous registration is needed, will serve to expose to the professionals the level of development achieved by wine tourism and its enormous potential to boost the development of numerous rural areas. Starting with a contextualization on the wine tourism situation at present, the event will help tourism professionals know first hand the high level and potential of wine tourism in Spain, making clear its character of experiential and collaborative product, result of the union of the prestige of the Denominations of Origin, of the know-how of the wineries of their areas and of the collaboration of multiple agents of the territory: local administrations, hostelry establishments and other private initiatives.

Besides will be approached keys by which wine tourism can be considered a powerful tool to combat depopulation, boosting the resources of rural areas, energizing and contributing to the preservation of its historical-artistic, gastronomic and natural heritage and attracting investment and economic resources to the rural environment.
