15 Gallaecia Distinctions for wines from the D.O. Ribeira Sacra

The Gallaecia Sommeliers Association announces the Gallaecia 2022 Distinctions. The distinguished wines in this contest are the result of a double tasting, the first in the Regulatory Councils of the D.O´s. and the second with market wines to learn about the wine that reaches the final consumer. All Distinguished wines have exceeded the cut of 84 points (O.I.V. tasting sheet). Of the wines tasted, 110 belonged to the D.O. Ribeira Sacra and obtain Gallaecia Distinctions 4 white wines, 1 rosé and 10 red wines.

The Distinguished Gallaecia in white wines are:

In rosé wines, the Gallaecia Distinction are:

In this 20th edition, more than 50 sommeliers tasted 638 references (including 50 samples IXP Aguardientes and traditional liqueurs from Galicia). The contest is consolidated as one of the best wine contests, not only in Galicia, but also in the national territory.

After the first official harvest weekend in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra exceeds one million kilos collected Of the 92 wineries that harvest this campaign under the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, 54 are harvesting, 4 have finished harvesting and 34 have not started yet. After the first official harvest weekend, 1,257,299 kilos of grapes entered the winery.
