Today, the prestigious Peñín Guide has visited the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin, where two of its tasters have carried out an exhaustive tasting of 88 wines in the tasting room of the Ribeira Sacra Regulatory Council. “This visit highlights the importance and recognition of the region's wines in the national and international wine scene” - commented Antonio Lombardía, president of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra during the tasting.
During today's session, the Peñín Guide tasters have evaluated a wide variety of wines produced in the Ribeira Sacra, thus contributing to the assessment and dissemination of the quality of these wines in their next publication. The Peñín Guide is an essential reference for wine lovers and professionals in the sector, and its visit underlines the growing prestige of the Ribeira Sacra in the world of wine.
This tasting follows the recent visit of sommelier Ferran Centelles, who on May 16 also went to the Regulatory Council of the Ribeira Sacra to carry out a tasting of the region's wines. Centelles, renowned sommelier and collaborator of the elBulli team, highlighted the uniqueness and quality of the Ribeira Sacra wines, reaffirming the potential of the region in the wine scene.
The Ribeira Sacra Regulatory Council is enthusiastic about these visits, which not only validate the effort and dedication of local winegrowers, but also help position the designation of origin on the map of great wines.
