The Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin concludes the harvest, highlighting the excellent quality of its grapes

The harvest in the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin has concluded with a crop that has produced grapes of excellent quality. In the words of the president of the D.O. Regulatory Council, Antonio Lombardía Crespo: 'I believe that we will be able to enjoy the wines from this vintage for many years, the quality with which the grapes entered the wineries was unbeatable.' To date, 4.881.326 kilos of grapes have been harvested, reflecting the effort of viticulturists and wineries to preserve heroic viticulture and maintain high production quality. This year, the rains only made an appearance during the final moments of the harvest, which slowed its completion in some cases. However, the efforts of the viticulturists and wineries allowed the harvest to be completed with optimal quality, ensuring its potential for producing excellent wines.Throughout the harvest, various native varieties have been collected, including:Red varieties

The Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin continues to establish itself as a reference within the winemaking landscape, standing out not only for the uniqueness of its vineyards and wines, but also for the commitment of its wineries and viticulturists to the quality and authenticity of the products made under this Designation. According to the president of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, 'we believe this is going to be an exceptional vintage due to the quality of the grapes that entered the wineries, mainly because the months of August and September generally did not experience long periods of high temperatures, with significant cooling at night. This led to slow ripening, allowing for grapes with a very balanced level of ripeness and acidity. I believe our strength lies in the uniqueness of our viticulture, our grape varieties, and our wines. The market demands fresh, fruity red wines, and in Ribeira Sacra, we have those wines naturally.
