THE GALICIAN WINE TASTING ASSOCIATION
51 WINES FROM THE D.O. RIBEIRA SACRA ACHIEVED
The tastings took place on the 30th of June in the tasting room at the Ribeira Sacra Wine Centre with the collaboration of the Regulatory Council of the Denominación de Origen Ribeira Sacra. The tasters were put into two tasting panels in order to do blind tastings of 89 samples, 74 reds and 15 whites.

The results from this tasting and from other tastings being held in other Galician denominations, will be used to produce the Guide to Wines, Aguardientes and Bodegas of Galicia that will be published by Edicións Xerais de Galicia.
The tasters awarded points during the tasting for different categories: visual, olfactory and taste in the mouth. The wines that received between 87 and 100 points were merited as excellent; between 57 and 72 as good. The majority of the wines tasted will be appearing in the Guide to Wines, Aguardientes and Bodegas of Galicia, but today the Asociación Gallega de Catadores are releasing the names of those wines that received 90 points or more. For the Denominación de Origen Ribeira Sacra this means a total of 51 wines. 9 white wines, 30 red wines not aged in barrels and 12 red wines aged in barrels.
Once again the Asociación Gallega de Catadores highlighted the freshness and Atlantic character of the wines from this Denominación.
