Ribeira Sacra, in the twenty-sixth International Contest "Mondial des Vins Extremes" held in the month of July in Valle d'Aosta (Italy).
This International Contest organized by CERVIM, is the most important wine contest worldwide for wines produced in mountain regions, from heroic crops, whose objective is to promote and enhance the oenological production of these lands that are characterized by difficulties structural and the uniqueness of wines that have an extraordinary personality.
The 2018 edition had the participation of a total of 277 producers who submitted to the contest 720 references belonging to 19 different countries.
Side. Ribeira Sacra was represented by a total of 58 wines of which finally won the desired 13 of them, which represents a considerable increase over the previous edition.
At the end of the delivery ceremony, the president of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, José Manuel Rodríguez stressed that:
