The tasting panel will assess 10 samples, 2 per sub-area (Amandi, Chantada, Quiroga-Bibei, Ribeiras do Miño and Ribeiras do Sil), seeking to have representation in each sub-area of a winery of higher production and another of lower production, to establish an average valuation of the wines of the new vintage. The collection of samples has been done by technicians of C.R.D.O.R.S. since February 8th.
The Regulatory Council organizes this tasting in order to inform consumers about the quality of the wines that will be found in the market. The first qualification tasting was held in 1996, with the result of "GOOD". Since then, all the ratings were "VERY GOOD", except last year and in 2000, which were "EXCELLENT".
