Antonio Raluy, of the Galician Association of Tasters, emphasized, "These are surprising wines, in the sense that you noticed a structure and a freshness, at this point of the year, very interesting. It gives the impression that it will take us to a vintage to enjoy. That freshness anticipates us a hopeful year. "
Alfonso Losada, of the tasting panel of C.R.D.O.R.S., pointed out, "It was a year in which there were cryptogamic diseases in the vineyard, but the vintage that was preserved, matured very well in the last stages and makes us give this score of EXCELLENT".
Mateo Seoane Corral, of the Association Sommeliers of Gallaecia, pointed out, "You can appreciate the variety, the freshness, the potential of the Designation of Origin. A quality, that if we go back 10 years ago, we can see that the evolution is very positive. All the wines of Ribeira Sacra have that fruit and that freshness of the soil where they are born, the orography, the climatology ... They are wines that are not passed of alcoholic degree, they have that point of acidity that differentiates them from the rest of wines of the national panorama . "
Xesús Verao Pérez, from the tasting panel of C.R.D.O.R.S. highlighted "They are wines, which at this time of the year are very balanced, with a tannin that is maturing and on the nose you can see freshness, pleasant, in line with the Denomination, lately."
The Regulatory Council organizes this tasting in order to inform consumers about the quality of the wines that are going to be found in the market. The first qualification tasting was held in 1996, with the result of "GOOD". Since then, all the ratings were "VERY GOOD", except for 2000, last year and this one, which were "EXCELLENT".
