D.O. Ribeira Sacra Winners in the XXXI Wines Tasting of Galicia
Rural Environment Counseling, with the collaboration of the Regulatory Councils of the Denominations of Origin Ribeiro, Valdeorras, Rías Baixas, Monterrei and Ribeira Sacra, organizes the Wines Tasting of Galicia, which this year reached its XXXI edition. The tasting was held last month and yesterday afternoon the awards were delivered to the best wines.
D.O. Ribeira Sacra received the following awards:
- Acio de Ouro to the best red wine of the Denomination of Origin Ribeira Sacra for Casa Moreiras of Casa Moreiras S.L.
- Acio de Ouro Red Wine in Wines elaborated with wood for 12 Adega Vella Barrica by Jorge Feijoo González.
- Acio de Ouro in Organic Wines for Abadía da Cova de Adegas Moure S.A.
Premiados de la D.O. Ribeira Sacra
From today until Suterday D.O. Ribeira Sacra participates in the "Mondial des Vins Extremes", which takes place in Aosta. D.O. Ribeira Sacra presents 51 samples from 35 wineries to this contest. 44 samples correspond to red wines and 7 to white wines.
In Spain the only D.O. participants are the Canary Islands, Priorat and Ribeira Sacra. We are in territories of "heroic viticulture", a name that is reached by orographic conditions that do not allow mechanization, small-sized vineyards frequently organized in cultivation terraces, adverse weather conditions or/and because the vineyard is located in geographical areas with landscapes of high beauty and tourist character.
