XIX Awards Tasting Wines of Ribeira Sacra
The Parador was the venue for the awards ceremony of the XIX edition of the Wine Tasting Ribeira Sacra. The trained taste panel of 11 experts this time has had to examine 63 samples of the different categories: red wine, white wine and other vintages.
White Wines: were 10 samples and the winners were:
3rd Prize: Abadia da Cova of the winery Adegas Moure SA

2nd Prize: Adega Vella of the winery Jorge Feijoo González
Delivered by D. Luis Fernandez Guitián Mayor Sober
1st Prize: Viña Vella of the winery SAT Vella Virxe dos Remedios
Delivered by D. Miguel Sotuela, Mayor of Ribas de Sil
Red Wines: 32 samples were presented and the winners have been:
3rd Prize: Viña Ribada of the winery Manuel Calvo Mendez
Delivered by D. Jose Luis Alvarez, Mayor of Panton
2nd Prize: Don Bernardino of the winery Don Bernardino SL
Delivered by D. Severino Rodriguez, Mayor of Monforte de Lemos
1st Prize: Cruceiro of the winery Ramón Marcos Fernandez
Delivered by Ms. Raquel Arias, Territorial Delegate of the Xunta of Galicia in Lugo
Wines from other vintages: 21 samples were presented and the winners have been:
Prize: Barrel Mencia Sabatelius 2011 of the winery Adegas and Viñedos Lareu SL
Delivered by Ms. Julia Rodriguez, Member of the Parliament of Galicia
Award: Don Bernardino Mencia Barrel 2010 of the winery Don Bernardino SL
Delivered by D. Docasar Vicente, MP in the Parliament of Galicia
The Regulatory Council of the DO Ribeira Sacra used as prizes pottery made by Elias Gonzalez of Gundivós Oleiro Center in Sober (Lugo).
The awards ceremony was followed by the traditional meal held at the Parador de Monforte de Lemos.
