All set for the XX Ribeira Sacra Tasting Wines
The Regulatory Council of the DO Ribeira Sacra have everything already prepared for the twentieth edition of the Ribeira Sacra Tasting Wines, to be held at the Parador in Monforte de Lemos on the 22nd ( pre-tasting ) and 23rd May (final tasting).
On May 19th technicians of the Regulatory Council completed the sample collection at wineries participating in this twentieth edition .
The wineries participating in this edition are 37 and the total samples registered are 67: 34 samples entered in the category of red wines, 19 samples entered in the category of other vintages and 14 samples entered in the category of white wines.
The prizes to be awarded both the category of red wines and white wines category will be three : Gold Medal , Silver Medal and Bronze Medal ; and in the category of wines from other vintages two consistent prizes will be awarded of two Gold Medals
The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 23th May at the Parador in Monforte de Lemos .
The tasting panel will be composed of 10 expert tasters :
- Luis Moreno Buj: Contributor to various journals in wine and Valencia Television .
- María Isabel Mijares y García Pelayo: Expert in Viticulture and Enology.
- Mar Romero Peratón: Journalist specializing in food and wine , host of the " Mesa y Descanso " in Gestiona Radio .
- Concepción Cuetos Suárez: Actress.Official Taster International .Collaborator wine supplementation El Periódico de Catalunya. Vicepresident Women's Wine World.
- José María Martínez Alonso: Tasting Panel Member of Ribeira Sacra.Summiller.Owner Vinoteca "O Beiro " .
- Antonio Raluy Rodríguez: Tasting Panel member Ribeira Sacra.Member of the Galician Association of Tasters .
- Iria Otero Mazoy: Member of the Association of Sommeliers Gallaecia.
- José Luís Martínez Lorenzo : Member of the Galician Association of Winemakers .
- Waldo carreras Albo: Expert in Viticulture and Enology.
- Bruno Krammener: international journalist .
