Awards "Cata-Concurso Viños Tintos Galegos" held in the Basque Country

The headquarters of the Regulatory Council has conducted the awards ceremony of the XIV Wine - Contest "GALEGOS Red Wines" held in Victoria - Gasteiz on 28 June for the "XXIX GALICIA IN BASQUE COUNTRY DAY" in which Ribeira Sacra wines have been getting pleasantly awarded three awards given.
- FIRST PRIZE: MALCAVADA Mencia 2013 Selections from winery Araceli Vázquez Rodríguez in Sober (Lugo)
- SECOND PRIZE: REGINA VIARUM Mencia 2012 ecological barrel of Regina Viarum SL winery Sober (Lugo)
- THIRD PLACE: PERO BERNAL Mencia 2013 from winery Amedo SL Chantada (Lugo)
The awards ceremony was by David D. José Fidalgo, Secretary of the House of Galicia in Bilbao, which was attended by representatives of the three award-winning wineries.
At the awards ceremony also featured José Manuel Rodríguez González, President of the Ribeira Sacra Regulatory Council has received the prize as an appellation of origin.
Ribeira Sacra wines are well known and highly valued in the Basque Country, and tasting like this help to new brands are known by professionals from different sectors in the market and also can reach the final consumer.
