98% of the wine with Denomination of Origin of Spain will be represented in the Assembly that hosts the D.O. Ribeira Sacra from October 24th to 26th

The Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV) holds its XXIV General Assembly in Ribeira Sacra from October 24th to 26th. The CECRV thus responds to the invitation of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, who wants to take advantage of this celebration to seek support for the candidacy of the Ribeira Sacra as a World Heritage Site.

“During 3 days there will be 98% of the national wine production with Denomination of Origin in Ribeira Sacra. The CECRV will elect a new directive and it would be important that they show their explicit support for the Candidature of the Ribeira Sacra as a World Heritage Site, ”says the President of CRDORS, José Manuel Rodríguez.

The CECRV Assembly will take place on October 25th at the Lois Pereiro culture house between 10 am and 1:30 p.m. At this time will be held a press conference to inform about the agreements made. On this day the companions of the participants in the Assembly will have guided visits to the Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Antigua and the Pazo de Tor.


2010 CECRV Assembly in Ribeira Sacra

D.O. Ribeira Sacra was already host of a CECRV Assembly in 2010, coinciding with the Holy Year. On this occasion the participants, who will arrive on the afternoon of October 24th, will have the possibility to travel by catamaran, take a walk on the Winter Road in Belesar, eat in wineries or dine at the Parador de Santo Estevo. “It's about showing who we are in the short time we have to continue seeking support for the candidacy of World Heritage. It is a satisfaction that they have accepted our invitation to know our territory ”, José Manuel Rodríguez.

The Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV) is the non-profit association that represents denomitations of origin of wine before the General State Administration and before the institutions of the European Union, recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as an interlocutor of the Administration in terms of quality figures. CECRV is also part of the European Federation of Origin Wines (EFOW), together with the organizations representing Denominations of Origin and Geographical Indications of the rest of large European producing countries (France, Italy and Portugal).
