Between 24th and 26th of this month D.O. Ribeira Sacra hosts the XXIV General Assembly of the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils. The Assembly in which representation of 98% of the national wine production with Denomination of Origin in Spain participate, will be held on October 25th between 10.00 a.m and 13.30 p.m.; but the participants arrive on Ribeira Sacra on October 24th.
At 8:00 p.m. on 24th, the reception of participants will be held at the Oca Augas Santas Hotel in Pantón and, then, celebrate a welcome dinner. The Assembly, which will begin on 25th at 10.00 a.m. at the Culture House, Lois Pereiro, of Monforte, will end around 13.30 h and will be followed by a Press Conference in which to address the issues discussed. At 14.15 h. CECRV members will move to the Regina Viarum winery, where a meal will be held, followed by a visit to the winery. At 17:00 h begins the catamaran trip through the Sil Canyon to end at the Parador de Santo Estevo de Nogueira de Ramuín with visit and dinner.
The activities organized by D.O. Ribeira Sacra on the occasion of this XXIV Assembly, are completed on October 26th. Participants will begin at 10.00 h a hiking route by the Winter Way to Santiago in Ribeira Sacra. It will start in Diomondi to the Vía Romana winery; being able also to make stop, who wishes it, in the Belesar pier.
2010 CECRV Assembly in Ribeira Sacra
In 2010, D.O.Ribeira Sacra had hosted the CECRV Assembly, taking advantage to promote and spread the tourism resources of Galicia and Ribeira Sacra, coinciding with the Holy Year. On this occasion, the Ribeira Sacra is dedicated to its declaration as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and with this celebration it is hoped to continue adding supports, in this case from the wine sector with Denomination of Origin in Spain.
Spanish Conference of Viticultural Regulatory Councils (CECRV) is the non-profit association that represents the Denominations of Origin of wine before the administrations in Spain and the institutions in Europe. Recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as an interlocutor of the Administration regarding quality figures. CECRV is also part of the European Federation of Origin Wines (EFOW), together with the organizations representing Designations of Origin and Geographical Indications of the rest of large European producing countries (France, Italy and Portugal).
