D.O.Ribeira Sacra celebrates in Portomarín 2019 harvest Qualification Tasting, on February 28th

Ribeira Sacra Qualification Tastings are itinerant in subzones and, on this occasion, the turn is for the Chantada subzone. Last year, the appointment was in Paradela (Ribeiras do Miño subzone), where the 2018 harvest obtained the EXCELLENT assessment.
They integrate the tasting panel of this edition:

- Waldo Carreiras Albo, representante Consumidores Consejo Regulador D.O. Ribeira Sacra
- José María Martínez Alonso, representante Distribución Consejo Regulador D.O. Ribeira Sacra
- Alfonso Losada Quiroga, experto en Análisis Sensorial de Vinos
- David Pascual Rodríguez, experto en Análisis Sensorial de Vinos
- Mar Vilanova de la Torre, expera en Análisis Sensorial de Vinos
- José Luis Hernáez Mañas, experto en Viticultura y Análisis Sensorial de Vinos
The tasting panel will assess 10 samples, 2 per subzone (Amandi, Chantada, Quiroga-Bibei, Ribeiras do Miño and Ribeiras do Sil), seeking to have representation in each subzone of a winery of greater production and another of lower production, to establish an average valuation of the wines of the new vintage. Sample collection has been done by C.R.D.O.R.S. since last day 21st.
The Regulatory Council organizes this tasting in order to inform consumers about the quality of the wines that are to be found in the market. The first tasting was held in 1996, with the result of "GOOD". Since then, all the qualifications were "VERY GOOD", except the year 2000 and the last two years, which were "EXCELLENTS".
