Adega Vella, second prize at the XXII Galician White Wine Tasting in Bilbao

"Irmandade of Galician Centers in Euskadi" had been celebrating Galicia Day in Euskadi with the organization of the Galician Red and White Wine Competition Tasting. With the pandemic, last year these activities were suspended and this year the sanitary circumstances allowed the celebration of one of the tastings. Thus, on September 18th, the XXII Galician White Wines Tasting organized by this center was held at the House of Galicia in Bilbao.

Wines from all D.O. Galician wines and the wines of D.O. Ribeira Sacra are usually made with recognitions, mainly in the tasting of red wines. This time Adega Vella receives second prize in white wines for 1904 Adega Vella (Godello 2019). Sommeliers who form the jury of this contest highlighted the high level of the wines presented.

José David Fidalgo, promoter of this contest, along with José Antonio Rodríguez, president of the House of Galicia in Bilbao, went to Ribeira Sacra to present the award to the representative of Adega Vella.

With these tasting-contests, the Galician centers in the Basque Country intend to promote Galician products and, in particular, Galician wines. For its celebration, the collaboration of the participating wineries and the different Regulatory Councils of the Denominations of Origin of Wine in Galicia is appreciated.
