D.O.Ribeira Sacra resumes the Qualification Tasting of the last harvest

On Friday, February 25th, starting at 12 noon, the Qualification Tasting of the 2021 vintage in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra is held at the Hotel Áurea Palacio de Sober
They integrate the tasting panel:
- Alfonso Losada Quiroga, Expert in viticulture and oenology
- José Ramón Montilla Cortizo, Gallaecia Sommeliers Association Representative
- Maira Ratón Fernández, Galician Association of Oenologists Representative
- Mercedes González Rodríguez, President of Vitislucus-Sensory Analysis and Wine Tourism Experts. Gastronomic Advice MEmbajadora
- José María Martínez Alonso, Tasting Panel Member of the C.R.D.O.R.S.
- Oscar González Rizo, Tasting Panel Member of the C.R.D.O.R.S.
- Juan Ángel Fernández Martínez, Tasting Panel Member of the C.R.D.O.R.S.
- Pepe Seoane, journalist
- Ana Fernández González,Representative of the Galician Quality Agency (AGACAL)

The tasting panel will assess
10 samples, 2 per subzone (Amandi, Chantada, Quiroga-Bibei, Ribeiras do Miño and Ribeiras do Sil), seeking to have representation in each subzone of a winery with a higher production and another with a lower production, to establish a average evaluation of the wines of the new vintage. Sample collection was carried out by C.R.D.O.R.S. techniques, starting on February 14th in the Ribeiras do Miño sub-area and ending on February 18th in the Chantada sub-area.
The
Regulatory Council organizes this tasting in order to inform consumers about the quality of the wines that are going to be found on the market. The last qualifying tasting was held in Portomarín a couple of weeks before the lockdown, the 2019 vintage was rated VERY GOOD, with a score of 7.5.
