After FITUR the D.O.R.S. brings to a successful closure the attendance at Xantar
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES OF THE D.O.R.S.
The Denominación de Origen Ribeira Sacra continues with its work in promoting its products. 2009 opened with its presence at FITUR through the Ourense Province Tourism stand that supplied promotional material on the Denominación to its
visitors. In Xantar the D.O. was present both at its own stand and also at the Council for the Countryside Environment stand. The people that visited the Denominación stand had the opportunity to taste the
wines and obtain information on the D.O. and many of the visitors wanted to know where they could buy the wines of the D.O. The attendance at this event was important, especially at the weekend. During the four days at Xantar more than 1,000 people visited the stand of the D.O.R.S. Xantar aims to showcase the best of Galician gastronomy, so it couldn´t but fail to include the D.O.R.S. Participating in this type of activity is always an important means of reaching out to new customers and consolidating the established client base. It is also a great opportunity for the restaurants, who were also present at their own stand, to find out more about our wines.
After Xantar the D.O. will be present in the capital of Galicia as part of the Santiago Repetirás campaign. This event will be on the 14th of February. An expert from the Regulatory Council will be offering tastings from commended wines from the D.O. Santiago Repetirás is an initiative of the Council of Tourism of Santiago which aims to combine culture, heritage and gastronomy. The event will continue until the 31st of March with cookery workshops, wine tastings....
Other events that the D.O. Ribeira Sacra will be attending include Gourmets and Fenavin, but these will take place later on in the year. A number of events will be taking place here inside the Ribeira Sacra, on the 27th of February the D.O. will be holding its Harvest 2008 Qualifying tastings. This activity takes place in various locations in the different subregions of the Denominación and aims to promote the interests of the Ribeira Sacra and above all its wines. On this occasion it will take place in the subregion of Ribeiras del Miño, in the town hall of O Saviñao. Tastings of the Ribeira Sacra wines will also take place on the 28th and 20th of May in Monforte de Lemos.
