Wine is very good and very homogeneous

25/02/2011

The tasting panel, was comprised of seven judges, it evaluated 10 wine samples, 2 from each subregion. The harvest was rated as VERY GOOD, with an overall mark of 7.0, with all samples receiving similar marks, which highlighted the consistency of quality between the different wines.

Some of the judges gave the following evaluations:

??The wines from this harvest in the Ribeira Sacra are very clean wines, with lively fruit and good colour. In a few months they will be even more enjoyable, at the moment they are still a bit young with some taste of fermentation. What stands out in the wines from this D.O. is that they are well-rounded on the palate with ripe red fruit. They are wines that are always enjoyable to drink.?. (José Felicísimo Pereira Freijido, Asociación Gallega de Catadores)

??The harvest from the year 2010 is a very good one. They are wines with much potential. Very distinctive wines, well-structured on the palate. They show the unique characteristics of the area, which these days is rare, however, the wines of the Ribeira Sacra are special and different to other wines.? (José Luis Hernáez Mañas, experto en viticultura y enología)

??This year is good and very homogeneous. We have good structure, good acidity, they are wines that are going to develop very well. They are wines with a lot of personality, that are different to other wines, they are very original. They are unique, this is what is great about these wines.? (Eva Pizarro García, Asociación Sumilleres Gallaecia)

The harvests of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra have for several years now obtained the evaluation VERY GOOD. The year 2009, had excellent results with all of the wine produced being sold and obtaining the prize for best Galician red wine and the prize ??Viño de Colleiteiro? at the Galician Wine tastings with an overall mark of 7.2. The year 2011 gave the D.O. its best ever production whilst maintaining levels of standards, during the following months we will see if the market and the critics continue to praise the work we have done.
