22º International Mountain Wines Competition

Ribeira Sacra is an appellation of origin listed as mountain viticulture as it meets the conditions have established by the agency CERVIM: wines made from grapes grown in vineyards with permanent structural difficulties such as:

  •   over 500 m asl, the wine excluded altitude plateaus systems
  •   slope greater than 30%
  •   terraced wine culture systems or paratas
  •   viticulture of small islands

All regions of the CERVIM, commonalities stand out of oneness that can not be played by cultural characteristics, environmental and landscape that have deep roots in the territory anchored through cultural identity and heritage historical and geographical origin.

The vines are grown on mountain biodiversity and sample these unique wines obtained with superior organoleptic qualities.
In this context and with the awareness of specific and unique realities represent the CERVIM organizes the International Mountain Wines Competition, held under the patronage of the OIV (International Organization of Vine and Wine) and this year reached its 22nd edition. The CERVIM is the only international wine competition able to extrapolate and celebrate the intrinsic values of the territories belonging.

For this 22th edition a total of 54 samples from 29 wineries included in the designation of origin are presented.
