Today, August 25th, technicians of the Regulatory Board have begun to carry out checks at different ripening vineyards of the appellation of origin. These controls serve to identify the officer recommended date to starting the vintage.

Awards 22º International Mountain Wine Competition
Have been published wines that have been awarded at the 22nd annual International Mountain Wine Competition held earlier this month in the Italian town of Aosta Valley in Italy. Ribeira Sacra wines have been awarded with a total of 19 medals between gold and silver in different categories.

Awards "Cata-Concurso Viños Tintos Galegos" held in the Basque Country
The headquarters of the Regulatory Council has been the scene of the awards of Tasting-Competition of Galician red wines held last June in the Basque Country, where the first three prizes were awarded to wines from Ribeira Sacra.
Victoria Moore visits Ribeira Sacra
Victoria Moore, British wine journalist from the newspaper "The Telegraph", visit wineries and vineyards of the appellation of origin for three days. Also makes a tasting at the Regulatory Council of 38 samples of wine from different wineries registered.
Winners in the XXVI Galicia Wines Tasting
The Rural Environment and Sea Ministry hosted the XXVI Galicia Wines Tasting 2014 held on 10, 11 and 12 June. The appellation Ribeira Sacra with 18 registered wineries participated in the competition with a total of 28 samples registered. Yesterday July 3th the awards ceremony took place in Santiago de Compostela.
Ribeira Sacra gets the first 3 prizes in the Tasting-Competition Galician Red Wines held in the Basque Country
Ribeira Sacra wines are again in luck as three wines with designation of origin obtained the first three prizes awarded by the Association of Sommeliers in Euskadi-tasting competition conducted annually by the occasion of the celebration of Galicia in Euskadi.
22º International Mountain Wines Competition
The 22nd edition of the International Wine Mountain will take place on 3 and 5 July in the Valle d'Aosta (Italy) where the committees, composed by wine experts, technicians and journalists will gather to select wines.
Ribeira Sacra at the Cervantes Institute in Brussels
Different brands of Ribeira Sacra participated in a tasting of wines from Galicia, which was held at the Instituto Cervantes de Bruselas. Ribeira Sacra wines presented were 9 and all have been very well received by the audience.
Peñín Guide tasters value Ribeira Sacra
A PeñÃn Guide team consisting of Pablo Vecilla, taster, and Javier Luengo, editorial director, were yesterday at the headquarters of the Control Board to evaluate wines from Ribeira Sacra. A total of 66 samples could taste different vintages, mainly 2013, a total of 25 registered wineries in the appellation.
XXI Wine Festival in Pantón
This weekend, May 31st and June st1, the XXI Wine Festival in Panton in the town of Ferreira (Lugo) is celebrated. Prior to the conclusion of the fair, there have been various activities: workshop tastings, Romanesque Month and hiking trail.
